These reactive products can damage your DNA, causing genetic mutations that may ultimately lead to cancer.

  • 血管病變:手指對寒冷敏感,顏色會發白發紫,稱為「雷諾氏現象」。Vascular disease: Fingers become sensitive to cold, turning white or purple, known as “Raynaud’s phenomenon.”
  • 骨骼病變:手指末端的骨頭會慢慢溶解消失,稱為「肢端骨質溶解症」。Bone lesions: The bones at the fingertips slowly dissolve and disappear, a condition called “acroosteolysis.”

台灣政府已經將氯乙烯作業列為「特別危害健康作業」,並將暴露標準下修至 1 ppm,目的是盡可能降低癌症風險。要保護自己,不能只靠測量空氣濃度,因為這樣無法了解你個人到底吸收了多少。 The Taiwanese government has classified vinyl chloride work as a “special health hazard” and has lowered the exposure standard to 1 ppm to minimize cancer risk. To protect yourself, you cannot rely solely on measuring air concentrations, as this does not reveal how much you have personally absorbed.

驗血還是驗尿? Blood Test or Urine Test?

答案是:要驗尿! * 驗尿(生物偵測):檢測尿液中的代謝物「硫代二乙醇酸(TdGA)」。這個數值可以最準確地反映你從所有途徑(吸入、皮膚)吸收的氯乙烯總劑量。 * 驗血:主要用來看你的肝功能指數(γ-GT),這是評估你的肝臟是否已經受損的指標。 The answer is: Test the urine! * Urine Test (Biological Monitoring): Measures the metabolite “Thiodiglycolic acid (TdGA)” in urine. This value most accurately reflects the total dose of vinyl chloride you have absorbed from all routes (inhalation, skin). * Blood Test: Mainly used to check your liver function index (γ-GT), which is an indicator of whether your liver has been damaged.

因此,一個完整的保護計畫,必須兩種檢查都做,一個看你吸收了多少(因),一個看身體有沒有受傷(果)。 Therefore, a complete protection plan must include both tests: one to see how much you have absorbed (the cause), and one to see if your body has been harmed (the effect).

氯乙烯作業的風險,主要集中在以下幾個環節: The risks of vinyl chloride work are mainly concentrated in the following areas:

  • 製造廠:在製造氯乙烯或聚合反應時,維修設備、開啟閥門、或手動採樣,都可能導致氣體逸散。Manufacturing Plants: During the production of vinyl chloride or polymerization reactions, equipment maintenance, opening valves, or manual sampling can lead to gas leakage.
  • 反應槽清潔:這是過去風險最高的作業!工人曾需進入反應槽人工刮除塑膠,導致吸入致命濃度的氣體。雖然現在這類作業已減少,但仍需警惕。Reactor Cleaning: This was the highest-risk job in the past! Workers had to enter reactors to manually scrape plastic, leading to the inhalation of lethal concentrations of gas. Although such tasks are less common now, vigilance is still required.
  • 包裝與運輸:將PVC樹脂粉末裝袋時,粉塵中可能殘留微量的氯乙烯,造成暴露。Packaging and Transportation: When bagging PVC resin powder, trace amounts of vinyl chloride may remain in the dust, causing exposure.

  3. 個人防護具(最後一道防線):這是不可妥協的。
    • 呼吸防護:在可能產生氣體的環境,必須使用供氣式呼吸防護具
    • 皮膚防護:接觸到液態氯乙烯會造成凍傷,必須穿戴防化學品手套和防護衣
